Whither Evel Karaoke?

The Story of a Mock 'n' Roll Band

Biography: Evel Markie

Evel Karaoke Biography: Evel Markie Biography: Uncle Larry History of Evel Karaoke Evel Markie was born in Tacoma, Washington, on January 11, 1960 and again a week after that. He was late, establishing a lifelong pattern, narrowly avoiding birth in the cab of an 18-wheeler and Canadian citizenship, which frequently go hand-in-hand.

His love/hate relationship with the Top 40 began with the tabletop radio in the living room. Already wise beyond his years, he did not buy his older brother's cock-and-bull story about tiny people playing tiny musical instruments inside the radio. Oh, no—he knew it was a guy playing tiny records! And the question uppermost in his tiny mind, then as now: why those records, over and over (and over) again?

And now, a mere thirty-something years later, he's stopped whining about it and started doing something about it: planting pipe bombs in pop songs (and letting the chips fall where they may) as one-half of Evel Karaoke.
